  • Carmichael 4 of July Parade - 07/04/2017
    Location: Carmichael Ca.

    The Capitol A’s have been participating in this parade for a number of years! Plan on decorating your car in RED, WHITE, and BLUE, and start practicing your parade wave!
    We will meet at the parking lot south of Marconi Ave on Fair Oaks Blvd. no later then 10:00AM. Parade starts at 10:30. The parade is two miles long going north on Fair Oaks Blvd. After the parade we will stop at the Dairy King on Fair Oaks Blvd. for ice cream. Sign up sheet will be passed around at the June meeting.

  • Clarksburg 4th of July Parade - 07/04/2017
    Location: Clarksburg Ca.

    Gather your car decorations and dust off your Red, White, and Blue attire and join us for a short and sweet community 4th of July Parade in Clarksburg—16 miles south of West Sacramento on the river. After the parade, we will tour back to West Sacramento along the river for an All American Hot Dog BBQ and Star Spangled Sundaes.
    Meeting Place: Gill’s House – 3317 Hornby Island Street, West Sacramento, CA
    Meeting Time: 10:30 AM
    What to Bring: Car Decorations, penny candies to toss to the kiddies, and a side dish to share if you are staying for lunch.

    Meeting time: 8:30 am Depart time: 8:50 am Estimated end time: 3 pm
    Meeting place: Susie's Country Oaks Cafe, 8595 Auburn Folsom Rd., Granite Bay.
    A private tour of the Cottage and Mineyard will be free of charge. Bring a lunch to eat at the picnic tables on the mine grounds.

    Fill up with gas before arriving at Susie's. There is an Arco gas station on the corner of Auburn Folsom and Douglas Blvd.

    Leave from Susie's parking lot at 8:50. Drive north on Auburn Folsom Rd. Along the way, there are numerous places to safely pull to the side of the road to let traffic pass. Driving time to Auburn is about 30 minutes and is 12.6 miles.

    We will have a restroom stop at the Placer County Courthouse/Museum, located on the corner of Lincoln Way and Maple St (and Auburn Folsom Rd.). Admission to the museum is free. We will allow about 20 minutes to browse around the museum.

    After our stop at the Placer County Courthouse, we will get back on the road toward Grass Valley. Upon leaving the parking lot, take Lincoln Way north one block to Hwy 49 and turn left. We will follow Hwy 49 for 23 miles, about 45 minutes. Upon entering the city of Grass Valley, you will see Empire Street. There is also a sign directing you to the Empire Mine. Turn right on Empire St. and go up the hill for 1.3 miles to the Empire Mine Visitors center parking lot on the right. Estimated arrival time is 10:20 am.

    At 10:30 we will have a private tour of the Cottage and the Mineyard. The tour is approximately 1 ½ to 2 hours. After the tour, we will have lunch at the picnic tables under the trees near the parking lot.

  • Cal-Expo Show-N-Shine - 07/27/2017

    Polish up those cars and join us at the State Fair for a full day of sunshine, good company, shopping, rides, and that fabulous fair food! In 2011 the treat was chocolate covered bacon….wonder what it will be for 2017? Thursday, July 27th from 10am—7 pm. We will meet at the parking lot at the end of Ethan Way at 9:30 am. Everyone that legally fits into your Model A receives free entrance to the fair. You can bring a “modern” if you don’t want to stay all day, but Model A’s must be on display all day. More information to come at the next few meetings.
