Townsman Car Club Annual Car Show 5/21/2022  6:30am
Location:  Loomis Train Depot
Once again we have been invited to the Townsman Car Club Annual Car Show at the Loomis Train Depot on May 21. We are allotted six Model A’s for display and I would like to have a variety of body styles – Coupe, Roadster, Tudor, Fordor, Pickup truck, etc., giving priority to those who have not attended in the past.  To take advantage of this opportunity to display our cars we must submit an application as soon as possible for each Model A being displayed and on May 21, we need to have all cars at the Loomis Train Station by 6:30 am. For the six cars selected, the cost for registration is $25 each and will be covered by the Club. This is a big show with over 200 show cars expected. A sign-up sheet will be circulated at the March General meeting, as well as more information regarding meeting time and location.

Sutter Creek Foundry   5/21/2022  8:00am
Location:  81 Eureka Street in the middle of Sutter Creek.
This is America’s last water-powered foundry and machine shop. It was established in 1873 and has lots of unique historic equipment and machinery. We will meet at 8:00 am off of Highway 16 at the Sloughhouse Inn Restaurant parking lot located at 12700 Meiss Road in Sloughhouse. The driving tour will begin promptly at 8:30 am. To quote another Model A member, “have your bladder empty and your gas tank full.” We will drive through the beautiful green countryside for about an hour and a half. At the Foundry we will have a docent led tour of approximately 90 minutes beginning at 10 am. The cost of this exciting and loud tour is $15 per person. Sutter Creek is quaint, but unfortunately, it does not have a restaurant that can accommodate our large group. Therefore, you will have lunch on your own at various restaurants with choices like Gold Dust Pizza, Cavana’s Pub and Grill, Sina’s Backroads Café, or at Buffalo Chips. Following lunch there will be time for ice cream or shopping. We will leave Sutter Creek at 2 pm. This should be an enjoyable tour which is being repeated due to popular demand. A sign-up sheet will be available at the March and April General meetings.
